Advocating
tolerance, peace and love
Toronto based
Canadian Intercultural Dialogue Center has for several years, been
leading the charge in blanketing our nation with the message of
understanding one another through interaction and understanding.
The objectives of the organisation have been achieved largely due to
the support we have received from other organisations and/or
individuals who have seen value in the projects of the organisation.
We have facilitated many events over the last several years aimed at
uniting Canadian of various backgrounds and beliefs though engaging
projects including conferences, cultural exhibitions, religious
excursions and youth/family based long term initiatives.
The success of the activities implemented by the CIDC owe much to
those people who have lead their communities to engage in
intercultural/interfaith activities and support the CIDC when
invited to embrace events fusing Canadian.
In this first annual
report of Dialogue of Canada some of these issues will be explored
by a series of articles, events news, book review, an interview, a
guest writer column, and future events.
Eminent philosopher
and mystical poet of Islam, Mawlana Jalaladdin Rumi (1207-1273 CE)
advocated tolerance, peace, reason and access to knowledge through
love. His work and thought remain universally relevant today. With
this in mind, the CIDC has organised two huge tributes dedicated to
Rumi in 2007 that were whirling dervishes and symposium. The
performance by the musicians and whirling dervishes was extremely
impressive. Over 15 professors came to speak about Mewlana with our
invitation that left highly academic literate to Canadian
intellectual environment.
Our traditional Noah
Pudding’s activity will take place from January 20 to first week of
February. We will distribute 6666 cases Noah Pudding across the GTA
from churches hospitals to shelters in order to establish peace and
love with remembrance that oldest tradition.
The CIDC would like
to invite you to join the 3rd Annual Intercultural Study tour to
Turkey. This is the third year we are organising such a study tour
program and the tour is getting more and more popular every year. We
have very limited seat available.
CIDC grew in 2007,
and improved its quality of service and add new events, programs.
Hopefully, CIDC will serve in new office in 2008 located Yonge and
Sheppard.
Dialogue only exists
with supporters who believe in tolerance, peace and love.
